Rims

The rim is the most important part of a wheel. If the rim is already strong, it will not twist or twist very much while cycling, which means that the spokes will have to deal with little to no torsion and will remain intact for the longest time.

A good example of this are the Ryde Andra rims, these are the strongest rims available on the market. Ideal for heavy loads such as e-bikes, cargo bikes, touring bikes with luggage, postal and meal delivery bikes and bikes ridden by obese people.

If you are putting together a wheel for a sports bike such as a racing bike, gravel bike or mountain bike, the weight of the rim is also important.
You should see the wheel of a bicycle as a flywheel that has to be started up again and again. The lighter the wheel, the less energy it costs. On the other hand, the rim must still be strong and stiff enough to remain intact during sporty use. So you have to find the right compromise here.

If your current rim shows cracks, the rim was too weak for the way it was used. It is then wise not to choose the same rim again and to opt for a sturdier model.

Use the filter options to find the right rim for your type of use.
